ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Becky. I’m a mom to three boys: two living here on earth and one guiding me from the stars. I am a former people-pleaser and currently recovering control freak. I love color coded systems and home organization projects. I will be the last person on the dance floor at a wedding and am always ready to binge-watch the latest series.

It wasn’t long into my parenting journey that I realized I needed some outside insight. I started reading parenting books, listening to podcasts, taking workshops and more. I had a lot of puzzle pieces but nothing seemed to fit together to create a cohesive picture. As parents, my husband and I struggled to stay consistent with any method. We’d follow the scripts, try to stay in imagination land, validate emotions…until we ourselves could no longer regulate our big feelings. Once our willpower was shot, we’d go back to yelling, bribing, punishing and being strict authoritarians. We’d go to bed feeling awful and we’d vow to do better the next day. After years of this, I realized willpower wasn’t enough to parent the way I wanted. I needed skill power!

When I found the Jai Institute for Parenting I knew I was in the right place. My parenting method is backed in attachment science, nervous system regulation, childhood development and more. Today, our family approaches conflict in a whole new way and I am forever grateful. I look forward to arming you with your own skill power in order for you to transform the relationships in your home.

If you’re like me, and you’ve “tried everything” I promise you there is still more. And if you’re new to parenting advice, you’re in for a wonderful journey!
